NACTEC (Northwestern Alaska Career & Technical Center) is a program which brings high school students to Nome for two and four-week sessions to learn about different careers. They also learn life skills such as cooking and cleaning.This project is a new dorm housing 26 students and two house parents. The design inside and out is welcoming, comfortable, inviting and reminiscent of home. The building features a unique construction method which wrapped insulation around a wood framed structure to create a super-insulated building.
