The lease space available to the existing multi-service line clinic is limited, yet its current layout utilizes the available space inefficiently, with an unsafe and claustrophobic behavioral health setting, inadequate medical exam and dental operatory space, and no provision for patient privacy, and has areas of unused space that is available but inaccessible. A new space plan was developed capturing the unused space and expanding the overall lease space, increasing the capacity of exam and operatory areas and creating openings into the behavioral health area to allow natural light in, and create a secondary egress opportunity for the behavioral health care provider in what otherwise was a windowless room laid out in such a way as to prevent the provider from exiting should a patient’s behavior require it.
